Ms Stuart established Safe-Tay (a voluntary water safety and drowning prevention charity) after the death of her brother, Graham Motion (20). In July 2006.

“I thought that it might be beneficial to be trained to the standards required of emergency personnel,” she told the tele today.

To cope with the demands of the course, Lisa has been visiting the gym on a regular basis.

“I have to be both physically and mentally fir for this course and a requirement is to swim 300 meters in 10 minutes in a pool,” she said.

Ms Stuart will also present a slideshow to firefighters about why Safe-Tay was started, charity initiatives and future plans. These include a charity auction and live music event to be held on December 8 at the Bliss & Envy nightclub, canal street, perth.

Ms Stuart said, “All proceeds from the auction shall go towards the installation of an alarmed lifebelt to be connected to a CCTV camera at the Queen’s Bridge in Perth. Our aim is to raise £3,000.
